Brief biographical information

Asef Zamanov was born on May 10, 1957 in Shahbuz in an intellectual family. In 1974, entered the School of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics of Baku State University, and graduated from that faculty in 1979. In the 1978-1979 academic year, he studied at the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, defended his thesis under the guidance of professor A.S. Ilinsky, USSR State Prize laureate. In 1983-1986, he received full-time education at the graduate school of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics.

Work and scientific activity

1979-1994, he was a senior laboratory assistant, a junior researcher, a researcher, a senior researcher at the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics.

1994-1997, the scientific secretary of the Department of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

 1997-2007, the head of the Science Department of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

2000-2001, the director of the Institute of Educational Problems of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

2007-2016, rector of the Baku Institute of Specialization and Retraining of Pedagogical Personnel (Institute of Professional Development of Educational Workers).

In 1986, he defended his dissertation on "Stability of hollow cylindrical bodies under the simultaneous action of "dead" and "following" loads" and was awarded candidate of physics-mathematical sciences. In 2003, he was defended his dissertation on the subject "Intrinsic and forced vibrations of plates from composite material with curved structures " and he was awarded doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, in 2009 he was awarded the scientific title of professor.

He is a mathematician, a well-known specialist in the field of deformable solid mechanics. He is the author of up to 120 scientific works, including 1 monograph ("Oscillations of a composite plate with curved structures", Baku, Science, 2011, 190 pages), textbooks on Mathematics, Basics of Social Work for higher schools, 6 textbooks, etc. Most of his works have been published in prestigious scientific journals of foreign countries (Mechanics of Composite Materials, International Applied Mechanics, European Journal of Mechanics A/Solids, etc.). He gave scientific reports at international conferences and symposia held in the field of science and education in Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Latvia, Germany, France, Hungary, the United States, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Singapore, South Korea, Iran, Georgia, led and represented Azerbaijan at a high level. He headed the Organizing Committee of 12 international scientific conferences. 9 candidacy (doctor of philosophy) theses were prepared and defended under his scientific guidance.

Since 1997, he has been a member of the Coordination Committee for Computational Mathematics of the International Academy of Sciences. Member of the editorial board of the international scientific journal "Mechanics of Composite Materials" with impact factor indicator published in the USA (in English) and in Latvia (in Russian), editor-in-chief of the "News of the Pedagogical University" Mathematical and Natural Sciences series, Humanitarian, social and pedagogical -deputy editor-in-chief of the series of psychological sciences, deputy editor-in-chief of the "International Mechanics-Machine-Building" scientific journal, deputy editor-in-chief of the scientific magazines "Theoretical and Applied Mechanics", "Young Talent" (2008-2010), the editorial board of the Azerbaijan school, ICT in Education scientific magazines is a member. Member of UNESCO's "Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technologies" Azerbaijan Committee, Member of the Board of Directors of the Education Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Member of the Dissertation Council at the Azerbaijan Technical University (2004-2006), Member of the Doctoral Dissertation Council at the Institute of Mathematical Mechanics (2015-2016), ASPU He is the deputy chairman of the FD 2.061 Dissertation Council (2016-2018), the deputy chairman of the FD 2.15 Dissertation Council (since 2019), a member of the Republican Coordinating Council for Continuous Pedagogical Education.

In 2017, he is the head of the TURKSOY department of ADPU, which was established for the first time in Azerbaijan.

In 2005, by the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, he was awarded the "Progress" medal for his services to the development of science and education, in 2007, he was awarded the "Jubilee Medal" of the Azerbaijan Union Colleagues Confederation, the "Advanced Education Worker" badge of the Ministry of Education.

He speaks English, Russian and Turkish languages.

He is married and has four children.
